Meet Us

Hey, thanks for coming to our blog. We are Josh and Ashley Cutler and we are the husband and wife team behind Zistle. Zistle is pretty much our life right now so what you see here is really a huge insight into who we are and what we spend most of our time doing.  But here additional details:

We’ve known each other since the first grade and live happily in Bellevue, WA. We are originally from Minnesota and we are huge MN sports fans, especially the Twins and the Vikings. We both had collections when we were younger and we are excited to relive the excitement of card collecting as adults. Josh trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai and recently started playing Rugby for a change of pace. Ashley trained as a modern dancer but now primarily focuses on her yoga practice.

Josh (the guy in the pic) is the technical genius behind Zistle and when he isn’t coding Zistle he works as a professional software developer.

Ashley (the girl in the pic) is the resident jack-of-all trades who handles every other aspect of the business and is working full-time on Zistle after jumping ship from corporate life (at least for now).

This is us on our first wedding anniversary watching the Twins play the Mariners in Seattle. Everyone should eat a hot dog and garlic fries on their anniversary with a few beers. That’s romance.

I’ve got a huge family of card collectors just waiting to check this site out. Have fun and let the Zistle ride begin…stay in touch!

You guys might be interested in http://www.collexpo.com. I built this site with a partner. I am not trying to promote shamelessly, but rather hoping we might talk. If you want to investigate, check out the sports card section. there are 292,000 baseball cards and 352,000 football cards compiled in the databases. And the collection-building tool is pretty great. You can add whole sets with one click and sort cards into customized folders. You can also download your collection in CSV format, though the feature is tough to find.

I received an email froma friend, chuck zsolnai [email protected]]. He asked if I would you mind sending an XL list for ONE year of Upper Deck Soccer (your choice) to Ashley over at Zistle and to tell her I suggested it and follow up with some fine examples from your collection.
Well here I am, I just registered as (batmancab) and I’d be happy to send you over whatever you need, in whatever format you would like it in. Just let me know.
I have a check list of every Upper Deck, UD/Bandai, Major League Soccer card made, 1997 to date, along with a price list (if need be)
I notice you do not have soccer on this site (yet)

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We are normally faster responding but we have been out of town dealing with a family emergency. I look forward to working on getting soccer up and running.

This is awesome! Thanks for creating a great collector site.

  • Robert Jones

Your website is great. It is well organized and easy to use. I think I’m gonna start using this site more than Beckett once I’m moved into my new house. Thanx for putting together such a wonderful site.

  • Tommy

I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you that I LOVE your site. Only downfall I can see is that its keeping me up too late trying to get my collection added lol. I’ll make sure and tell everyone about it because I’m sure they’ll love it and I agree with Robert. Its much better than beckett’s site and I’ll be here instead from now on. Keep up the good work!!

Hey guys.  I can say that I am really jealous that you created such an amazing site.  I have always wanted to create a site like this, and you two have done it.  I enjoy the speed in which your site runs, and the fact that we can add our images of the card if you do not have it in the database.  Thanks again for such an amazing site!

Thanks for the awesome feedback David. We are stoked you joined Zistle!

Hey guys…..I just started using your program….I dont have a huge collection but its maybe bigger than i think once I start going thru them one card at a time….So far I am really enjoying what you have put together…thank you for that….I was wondering how you recommend adding pictures of the cards to the database….whats the best method to do that because I am finding a lot of the cards are listed but with no pictures….btw I am in minnesota too…….go Twins and Vikes!!!!!

    Awesome.  Glad you’re liking it.

As far as adding pictures you can do it one of two ways:

    1) After clicking on a card you will see the preview pane pop up on the bottom of your screen.  Click the “Update Card” link and a form will pop up allowing you to upload an image for that card.

    2) This is much faster but requires you to use the latest chrome or firefox browsers.  You can drag any image from your desktop onto the card (which says “No Image”), in gallery view and it will automatically upload it.  We have a blog post about it from a couple of weeks ago.

    Hope that helps.

Ok…so i am still new at this and trying to figure it out…whats the points about…says I have six hundred and some “points”….what are these and how are they earned and used?

  • Cjrpeter

And just one other comment as well….a pricing tool that would total up ones collection value would be awesome. As part of that if there are some cards that do not have an established value within that tool as part of it it would be nice to have that noted…in other words how many cards are without a value and  which ones they are so one could keep a close idea as to the value of his/her collection. Just an idea. But please know i AM enjoying the site and thank you for allowing us to use it! By the way….how do you guys make money on this thing if its free to everyone?..just curious….again..great job and thank you and cant wait to hear back from you!
